Romance in the Spotlight: Tiara Giles

Question & Answer

  • What was the simplest romantic gesture you’ve ever received?

My now boyfriend waited patiently for me to gather my emotions, and listened carefully as I tried to explain how scared I was of falling for him. Just the simple act of patience was a big deal for me.

  • What was the hardest scene you’ve ever written?

The scene where I had to write a verbally abusive mom.

  • Who’s your favorite character? Why?

Dallas from my second book. That’s a southern gentleman at it’s finest with a big soft heart.

  • If you could, how would you help the Indie Writers Community?

Make it easier for people to get noticed probably and teach everyone about using social media, such as Instagram and YouTube.

  • Why did you choose your genre?

If I’m being strictly honest. When I was a teen I wrote romance as an escape from a rough reality. Then when I was an adult, I wrote my current genre in hopes that people could relate to the things I felt.

  • What was the first romance novel you read?

Girl

  • Name one song that always makes your writing playlist.

I listen to whatever gets me in the mood to write. Japanese City Pop and Jazz tend to constantly show up as I put words down.

Writing for this anthology gave me the chance to write about something personal to me, and about who encouraged me to move forward in my writing endeavors, my fiancé. My short is about his life and how it helped to prepare him for his Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis. It’s such a debilitating disease and it’s hard to see someone you love who was once so active, not be able to even walk some days. Writing became my escape…and my peace of mind even for a brief moment.

Blurb:
Karma always comes back to find you.
Throughout my life, I made raw, life-altering choices that not only affected my life, but the people around me I had grown to trust…depend on. Because of that, and my selfish decisions, I felt loss of those closest to me in painful ways. I just knew Karma had it out for me, but there are people placed in your life for a reason. My person became my confidant…my wife…my reason to move forward.
Moving forward from a diagnosis that could have knocked me down and kept me there until my crippling death. But I was given the second chance to live and endure whatever comes my way. So now, I’m more than just a shell of a man, I’m Chase Hunter. The husband…the father…the Multiple Sclerosis Survivor.
