New Author Alert:
Christine Lee has lived in many places; several states and cities, even a couple of countries! But she currently makes her home in Central California. She may or may not share space with a cat. Or two, or…okay, it’s only two (for now!).
Question & Answers
What was the simplest romantic gesture you’ve ever received?
I was seeing someone at work; he’d go on shift as I went off. He was literally my relief. One night I went out to my car, and without me knowing, he’d snuck my keys and put a stuffed lion in my seat! That could be where I got my love of cats…
What was the hardest scene you’ve ever written?
There is a scene in my upcoming debut release where my main character has to fight in a challenge, and I just had no idea where to begin. But I knew what I wanted to happen after, and after that, etc. So what’s a girl to do? I skipped the scene and kept writing until I did some research (ok, I watched videos online) and felt ready to tackle it.
Who’s your favorite character? Why?
In my book? Until now I might have assumed I’d say Mia Bella, but I realize Jack edges her out just a little. He has to be strong for so many, and Bella pushes at him, and he keeps coming back, pushing and shoving his way into her life. Tease me with the sexiest quote from one of your books. “Her eyes. Dear Lord, her eyes. True green, like emeralds, they almost shined. Given how spectacular he found her curves, he was amazed by her eyes. That they could hold his attention when that shirt did not hide her curves well. He only hoped he wasn’t drooling.”
If you could, how would you help the Indie Writers Community?
By giving back as much as possible. I discovered Independent Authors when I discovered real people can actually review books! It wasn’t some special club sort of thing. But luckily for me, i shortly there after found the best club of all: The Nerd Girls! Best group of people I’ve ever encountered. I buy as many books as I can, review as many as I can, and hope to continue doing so.
Why did you choose your genre?
It speaks to me. Everyone needs and deserves love. Spice is always fun, and adventure, mythological creatures, even better! And to my way of thinking, the spicier the better!
What was the first romance novel you read?
Oh my! I couldn’t honestly say! It was so long ago! Buy Junior High I’d advanced to “big people’s” books. I think I started on really old Harlequins. But the first author that I started REALLY following faithfully was Danielle Steele. Before that was children’s mysteries, after and alongside was Science Fiction, and years later I discovered Paranormal.
Name one song that always makes your writing playlist.
Ok, this may sound weird to some folks, but I can’t read or write with music playing. TV, movies? Yes. Music, no.
